Barnaby is a multidisciplinary artist from Calgary, with a diverse body of work in numerous genres. Since November 2015 he has dropped an impressive string of releases including an audio/visual webpage installation in collaboration with modular synth musician M Geddes Gengras, a collaborative record with LA producer D/P/I, a 160bpm Tigerwing edit with Sinistarr under the Yung Dutch moniker for the Drama Hands label, as well as three releases by his analog synthesizer duo "SH-2000". He played DJ sets in 2015 on bills with DJ Earl, D’eon, Project Pablo, Via App, NAP, Friendly Chemist, Homesick and Borys - and made appearances on NTS Radio in London and Red Light Radio in Amsterdam.
His musical work outside of the electronic realm explores psychedelic folk and pop song forms, traditional country music and experimental/ambient sound art within a contemporary context. His album ‘Shadows and Reflections: An Anthology’ was released in November 2012 through Umor Rex in Mexico City (distributed by Thrill Jockey in North America and Morr Music in Europe). Other notable projects involve collaborations with R. Stevie Moore, Amos Garrett, Charlie McCoy, Wayne Moss and members of the Carter family. Barnaby has also participated in collaborative live performances with Damo Suzuki, Julia Holter and Astral Swans and a group drone session led by Miles Cooper Seaton of Akron/Family.
